Project Overview
The first shirt I designed for a running group. Of course, it’s my own running group. This group of runners was formed from a multi-mountain dayhike back in 2016. Even though most of the members have gone their separate ways, they left lots of fond memories.
TUSU is short for Tumitindig, Sumusulong (Standing, Charging forward). Not a new concept, but definitely one that encapsulates the hardships of summiting multiple mountains in one day. This chance meetup gave me a group of friends that I’ll treasure my whole life.
Details
The mountain silhouettes in the shirt are Mt. Palay-Palay (top), Mt. Talamitam and Mt. Apayang (middle), and Mt. Batulao (bottom). These were the peaks in Nasugbu that we climbed in that one day and where we bonded as hikers/runners.
As you can see, I’ve always been a fan of tribal patterns since way back then and I also included TUSU in Baybayin to add some flavor. This is one of my favorite shirts because of its sentimental value and the memories it brings back.
Not to mention the design is just cool af.
