Kinig: My Top 5 K-pop Girl Group songs of 2021 (First Half)

Somehow we have reached the second half of 2021 and I am doing relatively fine. As someone who listens to every girl group drop since joining the K-pop religion last year, I’ve built my own sense of taste when it comes to this type of music. Here are my favorites of the year so far. This list will include songs from solo releases as well.

Kain: McDonald’s BTS Meal Review

Holy shit, is this actually a blog post about food!? It’s funny how “food” is a major category on my sidebar despite the last post about it being 6 years ago. But did y’all know that this blog was supposed to be mainly focused on food reviews? Look how that turned out.

So here we go, in honor of the early days of this site, let’s review something edible once again. This time, let’s join the trend and see what the fuss is with McDonald’s latest partnership with Kpop culture: The BTS Meal.

Baliktanaw: Thank You, Gfriend

Gfriend is no more. I’m sad and wanted to get things off my chest, so I tried to compile them into a blog post. However, I decided to turn it into a video instead because it can show so much more than just words and pictures. You can watch the video here, or click read more to see the transcript and the video sources I used.

Laro: Horizon: Zero Dawn Review

Horizon: Zero Dawn is a game whose reputation far precedes itself. I’ve heard nothing but praises from my friends who have already finished the game. But since it only came to the PC fairly recently (It was a PS4 exclusive until August 2020), I only had the chance to play it now. Not that big of a deal since I’ve reviewed 5-year-old games pretty recently. In fact, Horizon: Zero Dawn might be one of the newer games I’ve played this quarantine season. So, let’s talk about it.

Laro: Quarantine Games of 2021

Oh my god. Can you believe it’s already April?? Time really seems to pass by differently during a pandemic. Because of the stellar government response to this virus, we are back to a work-from-home setup. Coupled with the lack of outdoor activities and the time saved by not commuting, I’ve finished a lot of video games since the year started.

None of them have really wow-ed me to the extent that they need a standalone article, but there’s still a lot to be said about each of them. So let’s go down the hole of “games I’ve played since the year started.”

Laro: Assassin’s Creed: Origins Review

I’ve reached a 97% game completion rate for Assassin’s Creed: Origins. All that’s left are the War Elephant arenas and the Hippodrome races. I don’t want to bother with those, so I can pretty much say that I’ve finished playing the game after 80 hours. I’ll be giving my thoughts on it as well as sharing a few images I’ve taken using the game’s built in photo mode.

Isip: Hyori’s Homestay and the Curation of Guests

I’ve been riding the Hallyu wave over this quarantine period and aside from binge-watching K-pop variety shows, I was fortunate to watch a very wholesome show called “Hyori’s Homestay” aka “Hyori’s Bed and Breakfast.” After months of finishing it, there is something about the show that I just can’t help but write about.
