Baliktanaw: 10 Years of JaiOnline

2024 marks the tenth year of this blog’s existence. My first blog post was made on October 22, 2014. What a ride it has been since then. As a numbers nut, I love how generous WordPress is with the stats. This post serves as my marker for a whole decade of blogging.

I started this blog to practice writing and offload some thoughts from my head. Basically, I just needed a place to keep yapping.

I also had a lot of hobbies and interests that I wanted to talk about, and this space is proof of those. Some hobbies have faded away, some suspended, and others are still ongoing. It’s nice to be able to keep track of them in one accessible place.

Looking back at old posts, I can see how my writing style (and opinions) have simultaneously changed and remained the same. I have grown bit by bit with each post and they are here as a testament of this evolution. I can’t count the times I’m rereading my stuff and I say to myself “Wow, I really wrote this shit?” which is both a good and a bad thing.

I’m a guy that still loves reading blogs and it’s quite sad that a majority of the people I’m following no longer update their pages. These are the people who started before and at the same time as me. I hope they are all doing well, wherever they are.

But I am still discovering some new bloggers, though not as much as before. Please recommend some if you’re in the same boat as me!

10 years have gone by and I don’t see myself stopping anytime soon. If you’re a long time reader, thank you for taking the time to read my ramblings. If you’re a casual or a new reader, welcome! I have lots of things posted here so take a look around.

I may not be as active as my early days, but I will still keep coming back here to share some things about my life. Thank you for visiting this piece of my existence. This has been and still will be JaiOnline.

Stay safe and keep blogging!
