Kwarentina: 1st month of Staying at home

It’s pretty humbling to be living at the same time as a global historical event. This pandemic will surely go down as one of the important events in modern history, having impacted a majority of the population worldwide. As the experts and the ones in power are doing their best to crack down on the invisible enemy, the majority of the population is asked to contribute in a simple way: STAY AT HOME to prevent the spread of the virus.

Everyone is affected by this community quarantine differently. It has been more than 3 weeks of staying at home at the time of this writing and I am privileged to still be functioning normally. I have to render work from home, but that means a steady pacycheck in this crisis, for which I am thankful for. It’s been a slow adjustment process, and I miss the daily movement of my once-active lifestyle. In the meantime, I have been coping by just consuming a lot of content. Here are a few things that have kept me sane in recent days:

Baliktanaw: Japan 2019

Going to Japan was a life changing experience. Coming from a sinking, third world country like the Philippines, it was a feast for my eyes to see how efficient everything could be. And although I know that it’s not all butterflies and rainbows over there, it’s now one of my favorite places to visit. In my post-Japan daily life, I often find myself remembering all the things I experienced and that gives me that extra push to work a little bit harder so I can save up for another visit.

In the meantime, I might as well write a blog about my first visit to the Land of the Rising Sun. Here are some ramblings about Japan and the memorable things I liked and observed.

Baliktanaw: Thank you 2017!

2017 was fast. The pages of my planner filled up quickly but I guess that’s what happens when you count the year with weekends. Looking back always makes the year seem so short. But living the days, that’s the hard part. Yet that’s also where our growth happens. Here’s a quick post about my year.

Baliktanaw: Le Graphique Manille 2016

Saturday – Sunday
January 30-31, 2016

I think my most valuable learning from the event was that a lot of creatives like to color their hair (mostly blonde and blue). But I got other insights and lessons as well. Read on!

Baliktanaw: Goodbye 2015, Hello 2016!

And just like that, 2015 is almost over. It’s been awfully fast in my opinion, but it has been filled with lots of juicy content.
I’ve dubbed 2015 my “renaissance year” because this is the year I’ve decided to go out of my comfort zone and try new things that life offers.

In this post I’ll be summarizing my year and also making a short list of things to improve on for the next. Here we go!

Baliktanaw: From Dengue Victim to Trained First-Aider

So while I’ve been Dengue-free for about two weeks already, recovering has been pretty hard. With Run United Philippine Marathon closing in, I’ve shifted my focus to running while maintaining at least one gym day a week.
