Akyat: Mt. Kinabalu

Friday to Saturday
November 30 to December 1, 2018

I was a few meters past the 8-kilometer marker at the top of Mt. Kinabalu. I still had 700 meters to go before reaching Low’s Peak, the highest point of the mountain. Shivering, I flexed my numb fingers. I could see them move, but it had been a while since I had any feeling in them. Next, I pressed my hands beside my head to see if my ears haven’t fallen off from the cold yet. Is this the symptom of hypothermia? I thought to myself. Is this where I die?

Baliktanaw: Thank you 2017!

2017 was fast. The pages of my planner filled up quickly but I guess that’s what happens when you count the year with weekends. Looking back always makes the year seem so short. But living the days, that’s the hard part. Yet that’s also where our growth happens. Here’s a quick post about my year.

Akyat: Cawag Pentalogy

Sunday
March 5, 2017

If there’s one mountain aside from the knife-edge trilogy that has intimidated me with its reputation, it has to be Mt. Balingkilat. Reading online blogs about this particular mountain has given me some doubt on my ability to climb it. From dry infernos in the summer to raging river crossings in the rainy season, the reputation of this mountain is noteworthy. So when I was invited to do a Cawag hexalogy that included this mountain, I gladly accepted to see what the fuss was all about.

Gala: The Quiet Place in Calayo, Batangas

Saturday
May 7, 2016

This was a special day for me because it is my Mama‘s birthdaaaay! But aside from that, my company also scheduled their annual outing/team-building on this day. I was fine with missing out so Mama can celebrate her day, but she told me that since it was going to be mothers’ day on Sunday, we could just celebrate then. So I confirmed my attendance with my officemates and early in the morning, we were bound for Nasugbu, Batangas!

Gala: South to North Cebu travelog

Thursday – Sunday
February 18-21, 2016

The last time I was in Cebu, I vowed to return. So back in August, when Cebu Pacific had their seat sale, some friends and I immediately booked tickets for Cebu. Fast forward six months later and I was on a flying piece of metal bound for my favorite island!

Isip: The Things Worth Living For

[Disclaimer: Sorry in advance for my unorganized thoughts. I’ll do my best to format them in the most cohesive way, but please try to keep up as they can be all over the place.]

Imagine being asked the question, “What are you willing to die for?”

Isip: Turning memories into words

If it’s not that obvious yet, I am a sucker for documenting things. From itineraries to lists, to everyday happenings, I love collecting memories and placing them somewhere I can revisit them.

This is probably why I have a notable collection of notebooks. Waaaay more notebooks than I can use on a regular basis.

Isip: A letter to the past

I have always tried to live my life with no regrets; and up to this point, I’ve never had regrets that keep me up all night or haunt me in my nightmares and daydreams. However, there are some things that I would have done differently, given the chance. Nothing completely life-changing, but maybe just enough to set me on the right path earlier. So here goes a letter to Past-Me, after all Present-Me has experienced until today.
