Sunday
June 16, 2019

I never expected to go on an out-of-the-country trip this year, but life works mysteriously and that led to me being at the starting line for the Echigo Country Trail in Japan. Here is my account of my first international race. Continue reading “Takbo: Echigo Country Trail 2019”

Takbo: Arriba Makariba 2019

Sunday
May 5, 2019

It’s been a while since my last race report. After finishing the Mt. Apo Sky and Vertical race last month, I was ready to get some rest and relaxation away from the trails. But circumstances found me still out on the trails during the weekend. Not that I’m complaining! Here is a brief account of my experience in the recent Arriba Makariba 2019.

Pagsusuri: New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro v4

I recently bought a pair of the latest version of the New Balance Fresh Foam Hierro. This v4 was released early this 2019 and I couldn’t find a lot of reviews on it yet. But since it was stocked at the local shoe store, I had the time to fit it and was happy with how it caressed my foot. So I got the pair with the help of my friend Nik, and I broke it in on a fast hike through Mt. Ulap and an ultramarathon up Mt. Apo. Here are my impressions.

Likha: Sandugo Road to Trail 2019

I was fortunate enough to be given another creative project related to trail running. This time, it was for a big local brand’s race event. Here’s how I designed the Sandugo Road to Trail Challenge 2019.

Pagsusuri: My Trail Running Gear for 2019

What is up everyone, it’s been a while since my last post here. I’ve been more active creating content (memes) on my facebook page, so feel free to check me out there. Anyways, I finally had the time to create a longer post and it will be about the gear I use for trail running! It’s late March and the trail season has already begun so I think a good rundown of my equipment can help those looking for cheap but effective running essentials. As you all know, I am kuripot af so I’m always looking for the best bang-for-buck items. Let’s go!

Akyat: Mt. Kinabalu

Friday to Saturday
November 30 to December 1, 2018

I was a few meters past the 8-kilometer marker at the top of Mt. Kinabalu. I still had 700 meters to go before reaching Low’s Peak, the highest point of the mountain. Shivering, I flexed my numb fingers. I could see them move, but it had been a while since I had any feeling in them. Next, I pressed my hands beside my head to see if my ears haven’t fallen off from the cold yet. Is this the symptom of hypothermia? I thought to myself. Is this where I die?

Akyat: Mt. Damas and Ubod Falls dayhike

Sunday
November 18, 2018

Since I have no more races for the rest of the year, I decided to go back to my roots; hiking. It’s been a while since I hiked a new mountain. The last one was Mt. Halcon (Sialdang) back in holy week. So for this weekend, while Khat was training in Kibungan, I searched for an organized hike in the FB group CLIMBER. I finally decided on the semi-major hike in Tarlac, Mt. Damas.
