Takbo: Deadman’s 300 V3.0 Recon

Sunday
September 18, 2016

I recently signed up for a special trail event in the nearby area.  If the name of the race doesn’t scare you, then you’re a more courageous person than me. Hearing of its reputation from my more experienced friends, I told myself to take this challenge and see if I can complete it. Sparing no excuses, I attended the recon for the Dead Man’s 300 V3.0.

Akyat: Mt. Hugom

Saturday
September 3, 2016

This weekend, I was invited to a fun climb by my legit mountaineer friend and her legit mountaineering group. It was going to be a dayhike up one of the mountains in San Juan, Batangas followed by an overnight at the beach. Having no tent to call my own, I was having doubts if I can do an overnight escapade, but my friend assured that they will take good care of me. With no more doubts and because the mountains are calling, I confirmed my attendance to climb Mt. Hugom.

Takbo: Marathon-athon 2016

Sundays,
July 31, 2016 & August 7, 2016

If you told me 2 years ago that I’d be running 21 kilometers straight, I would have laughed at you. If you told me 1 year ago that I’d be running a marathon, I still would have laughed at you. The things we find absurd or impossible turn out to be quite achievable, if we just push ourselves a bit.

Isip: On Schedules and Spontaneity

During high school and college, I hated schedules. I would seldom commit to anything unless absolutely necessary. Even until now, this phobia of commitment still has a grip on some aspects of my personality. Could it be the reason why I’ve been single for so long?

Takbo: Conquer Jagged Peak 21km Batulao-Caleruega Reverse

Sunday
June 19, 2016

This day marked my most anticipated run for the year. It was a race through the trails of my favorite mountain, Mt. Batulao! I’ve been waiting for this race since 2015 when trail-running was just a pipe dream. Now that I’m more comfortable with the trails, I’m happy to say that this was my strongest finish for a trail run yet.

Akyat: Nasugbu Pentology: 5 peaks in 1 Day

On a scale just a little bit crazier than the Nasugbu Quadrilogy, I celebrated this year’s Independence day by going on a short hike with my trail friends up and down the many slopes of Nasugbu. This is a short summary of our Nasugbu Pentology.
