This was one of my most anticipated trail runs of the year. The keyword there is “was.” After completing a 100km run earlier this April, I was looking forward to trying out the trails in Pampanga and hopefully get a grand slam with the MF42 and CM50 trail runs. Most of my harkor friends have already done this series and they said it’s a good experience and a must-do for trailrunners. Well, it certainly was an experience.

Finally! I have reached the crater lake in the famous Taal volcano. I’ve always passed by the volcano when going through Tagaytay, but I’ve never really put effort into going to it. Then on a free weekend, I saw my friend Enciong post about a hike to Taal, via a different route than the traditional “tourist trail.” I messaged him immediately to secure a spot. At first we were waitlisted, but then more slots opened up for Khat and me. Yay!

To take a break from the hustle and bustle of city life, Khat and I took a vacation in the Visayas region, more specifically in Dumaguete and Siquijor. In this post, I’m going to break down our itinerary along with the budget we had. Let’s go!

After 3 weeks of taking a break from the trails because of sickness and other reasons, I was finally able to climb again and it happened unexpectedly. With the help of my running friend, Patrick, I was able to stand on top of Mt. Salakot’s Nalayag monolith!

It’s been a while since I last posted something purely fitness related. This post will serve as my mind dump for my search for the perfect fitness program. Â Maybe if you read along, you’ll find something useful as well. Let’s get it on!

Mt. Napulauan is a familiar mountain because my friends have hiked it before. Aside from that and it being very far from Manila, I didn’t know much about it. So when Khat told me that we’ll be hiking it, I had no idea what was in store. Continue reading “Akyat: Mt. Napulauan”

Looking for a quick dayhike on a Sunday, Khat saw an event for a mountain I’ve never heard of. Mt. Taronton in Infanta, Quezon, supposedly sits 1234masl and has recently opened. Actually, the event we were joining was the opening climb. Since we were curious about the place, we confirmed our booking and prepared ourselves for an exciting hike.
