Pagsusuri: Salomon Sense Mantra 3 after 500+ km

Hello everyone, I haven’t been blogging for over a month now because… well, life got in the way. And there hasn’t really been much to write about. I’ve been running on the roads again, as it’s much easier to do with all these storms assaulting the country. I’m trying to love running as much as before, and juggling it with gym hasn’t been easy, but at least I have a lot of options to stay fit.

Anyway, just to have something up, this is going to be an appreciation post to my favorite running shoe: the Salomon Sense Mantra 3. It’s already phased out of stores and it came out around 2 years ago, but I’m going to review it anyway because I believe it’s the best shoe that Salomon has released (for my foot). Read on to see why!

Takbo: Cordillera Mountain Ultra 2018

Sunday
March 4, 2018

Exactly a month after the tedious Akyathlon 2018, I found myself once again on the starting line of an ultramarathon. Once again, we were bound for the summit of Mt. Ugo, and once again, I was in for a lot of pain. How did it ever come to this?

Sunday,
February 4, 2018

Who knew that one of the best trail running events I’ll attend is also the one with the hardest route I’ve ever ran. This is exactly what transpired over the weekend at the Binga Indigenous People Cultural Heritage site, in Itogon, Benguet. Here’s a rundown of why Akyathlon 2018 is my best and must-try trail race.

Takbo: 1st P2P 50/20km Challenge

Sunday
November 5, 2017

Hearing stories of the Mt. Pinatubo Circuit from friends, I’ve been interested in the place since way back. It just never became a priority and with most hikes taking place at the same time as other hikes, Pinatubo was a distant dream. So when the Pinatubo-master himself, Sir Jherry Guiao announced a new trail run along that route, I didn’t have second thoughts. Here’s my long and winding recap of the 1st edition of the Porac-Pinatubo 50km challenge.

Takbo: Miyamit Falls 42 2017

Sunday
October 1, 2017

This was one of my most anticipated trail runs of the year. The keyword there is “was.” After completing a 100km run earlier this April, I was looking forward to trying out the trails in Pampanga and hopefully get a grand slam with the MF42 and CM50 trail runs. Most of my harkor friends have already done this series and they said it’s a good experience and a must-do for trailrunners. Well, it certainly was an experience.

Takbo: Mt. Ugo Marathon 2017

February 19, 2017

Mt. Ugo marathon is the first leg of the KOTM series, the country’s most well known trailrunning series. This opener is 42 kilometers of established paths from Kayapa to the summit of Mt. Ugo and then back again. It was my first time to run this event and I was genuinely excited and scared.
