Akyat: Mt. Batolusong

Thursday
April 30, 2015

There are some days when I feel that enough is enough and just do something spontaneous. The most recent would have to be accepting an invitation to climb a mountain during a work day. Usually, I climb or do something outdoorsy during the weekends only, but since this is a rare opportunity to climb another beauty of nature, I took a leave off from work. This is my Mt. Batolusong experience. (Pictures ahead, wooo)

Padyak: Wawa Dam

There are a couple of reasons why I haven’t gone on a  long bike ride recently. (1), my weekends have been used up by all my other hobbies and interests, and (2), ever since my birthday ride, my rear brake has been completely used up so I only rely on my front brake to stop me from colliding with things.

Then, a friend invited me for a ride to Wawa dam, and since I had nothing better to do that day, I complied. I just decided to pedal extra carefully. So here’s my Wawa dam experience.

If it’s not obvious yet, I like escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life. I was pretty bummed seeing all my Facebook friends post beach pictures and so I vowed to get myself to the beach ASAP!

Akyat: Mt. Daraitan

As if climbing Mt. Batulao earlier in the month wasn’t enough, I joined the Outdoor Addicts again on another climb! If you may or may not recall, the Outdoor Addicts were the group I climbed Pico de Loro with. So after missing out on a lot of their scheduled climbs, I finally got the time to climb with them again. Here’s my Mt. Daraitan climb experience. (Y’all know it, pictures ahead)

Akyat: Mt. Batulao

Saturday
March 14, 2015

I recently met a new friend who happened to be a veteran mountain climber (she has climbed 14 mountains!!), and after a few days of talking, I told her that I haven’t climbed a mountain ever since Pico de Loro and that I’m itching for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. She invited me to climb Mt. Batulao, a really popular mountain that’s been popping up on my Facebook feed as well. Since I had no other plans for the weekend and I’m a big fan of spontaneity, I agreed. This post summarizes my experiences for that climb. (Image-heavy post ahead)

Baliktanaw: Life Snapshots

Forgive me for not being so active recently, I’ve been caught up in the daily grind of life. What that basically means is that I’ve been living the same routine everyday. Work has been a drag and the only times I feel “alive” has been during the weekends.

So in order to quickly encapsulate the recent happenings in my life, here are some pictures:
